The Worthen Attic
First of all here's some hostory of this great place:
The Worthen House is a unique building located within the Lowell City Hall Historic District, at 141 Worthen Street, Lowell, Massachusetts. It sports a triangular floor plan and has had numerous changes and functions over the last century and a half. It wasn’t always a tavern and was more popularly known as THE OLD WORTHEN” from 1942 until 1989 when it was purchased by Manny Silva, who not only restored the building but returned it to the name, “Worthen House".
In 2002 it was purchased by Nick and Penny Hamourgas , who have great love for both history and music, and who made some nice updates to the interior and exterior. We offer full lottery products, on premise ATM, excellent service and excellent food.
Thw Worthen is a great neighborhood bar, with great beer and food, we guarantee you will settle right in.
We hope to see the best of acoustic, electric, rock, jazz, experimental, blues, pop rock, pretty much anyone who is great! We love bands that bring a fresh crowd to the Worthen! We hope that all of the musicians that have made the Worthen their second home will give back to the establishment by blessing it with their music. Become a part of Massachusetts history and play at the Worthen's cozy, personal venue. Come and bring your music where Kirouac and Poe hung their hat!
Open Mic Night is every Wednesday night!
The Worthen has live music upstairs on Friday and Saturdays. We are supporting all types of music here at the Worthe Attic. Please contact us for booking.
We have moved to an email only booking process. Please contact East Coast Image for all booking inquiries. All bands that wish to play here will be promoted via myspace, email contacts and weekly flyers at The Worthen. We also expect that all bands that play here will do some promoting on their own: hang band flyers, promote on your myspace, and email contacts, etc. Can't wait for you to come down and join us for drink!
