Oingo Boingo
Oingo Boingo has always been a favorite of mine from the '80s.
The first of these video/songs, "Little Girls" is absolutely brilliant.
The second, "Dead Man's Party" was a song used in the movie "Back To School" with Rodney Dangerfield. Great synth bass work.
The Third video is a clip from the "Gong Show" in 1976 when the act was first exposed to the world. Back then it was known as
"The Mystic Knights Of The Oingo Boingo".
Enjoy.......

Sorry, CC, our musical tastes part ways on this one, that stuff is just awful.

Funny thing is I don't care at all for his commercial/pop stuff but his scores for alot of the Tim Burton movies are brilliant.

It is kind of weird. But then, I like weird. You know me.
I'll have to check out those scores Swan. Never heard them before.

WHAT???
Crazy Cat, you didn't know Danny Elfman was a film scorer? He also scores "The Simpsons" too.
The music in those Burton films are amazing!
10/7/2008 12:36:06 PM
Danny Elfman scored Batman, Batman Returns, all the Spiderman Movies, the Simpsons, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and much more.
10/7/2008 12:38:20 PM
Really Paul? Ever see the Batman movies with Michael Keaton? How about Pee Wee's Big Adventure?
He's also wrote the theme for the Simpsons.
Danny Elfman is wildy successful as composer for film and television.

Hey, let me hold on dearly to my boyhood fantasies!

I know it's hard to believe. I've only read about him being a film scorer. I haven't sat in a movie theater since 1987 and I've never watched a Simpson's episode in my life; nor have I ever watched South Park—although I've heard so much about those shows it's like I've never had to watch them.
It's like Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon". I've never owned a copy of that album because I heard the thing so much while growing-up it's permanently etched in my mind; yet I own bootleg CDs and DVDs of their rehearsals back in the '70s!
I've got a lot of catching-up to do!

Oh, there was one time I was in a movie theater since then: at the IMAX theater at the Kennedy Space Center last year to see these beautiful 3D movies of the International Space Station and the moon landings.
10/7/2008 2:17:37 PM
No Swan, never saw any of the Batman movies.
10/7/2008 2:19:36 PM
I have songs from Nightmare Before Christmas on my IPOD that still get regular play JAcks obsession jacks lament and this is halloween.
Never much of an oingo boingo fan but I always liked dead mans party.

"Dead Man's Party"... and my personal favorite "Just Another Day".... exemplify the genius of Oingo Boingo.
Thanks for starting this thread, Paul.
