When I posted that, I meant to put that my friend "Jack Hoffs" from Toolfist is also listed, and he frequents this site as well.
I always liked the way he plays bass, he plays great and learns the songs just like they were recorded.

Good luck Lou, to be even on the same page as Bruce Gertz is an honor. I threw my vote your way, same amp club and all.

I don't KNOW the motherf*cker- I saw him with Charlie Farren years and years and years ago- maybe that's not the same guy, but if it is he's a ridiculous player

Got to throw votes to a few of you good peeps!

Beatlejuice played a small private party at my GF's Audi dealership last week. They were awesome, there was only about 60 people there, very imtimate and they had a few guest singers including Mike from the Fools. Got to chat with him a bit, what a down to earth guy Lou, must be great working with him.

BTW Lou, why isn't Joe playing with the Fools anymore? He was there playing bass for Beatlejuice.

Lou Spagnola
Lou Spagnola writes:
Hey Swanee...when Beatlejuice started, The Fools were only doing a few shows per year. Sometime around 2004 they decided to play a full schedule again, but there were too many conflicts for Joe to play full time with both, so they were nice enough to find me.
That's the story they tell me, anyway.
They are an incredibly nice group of guys, and every single conversation either starts or ends in laughter. Mike is a complete riot, and one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to be in a band with. The gig is an absolute gas.

As for being nominated along with Bruce Gertz, I'm not even an ingrown hair on his ass.....but thanks for the vote, Terry!

Mike and Joe were both hanging out front of the dealership on break, it was easy to see they were pals. They were both really cool...I was gushing like a schoolgirl, I've been a huge fan since I saw my first Fools show in '86.

Dude, you play with the Fools, Mass and Fortune, you've recorded with Michael Sweet, Stryper, Delp, Goudreau and Cherone...you absolutely belong on that list!

but swanee, it doesn't have to be that way.

rise up, and look in the mirror - YOU ARE OK swanee.

YOU CAN BE THAT MAN YOU ALWAYS DREAMED YOU WOULD BE, ALBEIT MORE BARREL CHESTED THAN YOU WOULD HAVE LIKED, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

Lou Spagnola
Lou Spagnola writes:
All I can say is, you're the absolute best Swanee I know!
And thanks for the vote Milhouse!

It's funny Swanee, I joined the band and put in as much effort as humanly possible to make it so that they could go full speed ahead without having to make allowances for me - mostly out of fear of failure - and practices ended up being about 25% hard work and 75% laughter....but I never really gave it a whole lot of thought at that point the kind of band I had been lucky enough to play with.
When we started gigging and I'd be hanging out before the shows, I said to myself, "Holy shit, I'm actually in this band.....I remember going to see them at the Channel in 1987, and there were 1200 people there, and they couldn't even leave the dressing room.....wow, this isn't going to be like any of the other gigs I've done".
Regardless, I still feel like the ingrown hair on someone's ass a lot of the time. It always keeps me on my toes!
