Trying to get some gigs up north....
I'd love to get back into the music scene in Billerica, Lowell and further north. I do a lot of acoustic stuff, and love the solo/duo setting. Any hints, contacts would be great. I still have a lot of friends living in the area and would be able to bring in a good crowd.

Sangria's in Downtown Lowell sounds right up your alley.

I was going to post something smart a$$ because we know each other, but I also know Mary Beth won't blow her own horn so I will.
MB sang in Five Easy Pieces which was essentially Fortune without Bob Vose (their lead singer) for a few years. She also sang in Mixed Nuts wcich (I think) consisted of members of Audio Underground for a few years as well. She has sung back up on RTZ and Delp/Goodreau albums and has put out at least one or two solo albums. She also performs solo and in a trio in a bunch of local clubs (including a weekly stint at Cheers in Boston). Many of the people here will remember her from Reaction and another band that I don't remember because I am old and senile.
There, now you can expect some grief from me Mub because I can't be nice for too long.....

Mary Beth, you're welcome to sing a few songs with us tomorrow night at the Haluwa in Nashua, or Thursday night at Whippersnappers. I'd be happy to introduce you to the owner and put you in contact with the booking agent.

MaryBeth is a talent and a hellava chicky! We played together for a few months but we spent more time jumping on my kids trampoline that actually rehearsing...another "good ol' days" story.
MB, give a shout to Garrisons in Billerica...

Another example of this being a small-world - Swanee, I went to (brace yourself) HIGH SCHOOL with her - she was a great talent back THEN. Also did a gig last summer (BIG 80's) with Ernie & the Automatics which her husband Brian heads-up.
All the intertwining of musicians is pretty impressive. Funny how many people I know, know other people I thought they'd NEVER know. :)
