I'm moving to another board cause the partisanship here sucks.

I don't get the anger.

In normal circumstances, this entire group could get together, hang out, jam and otherwise enjoy each other's company.

Inject politics into that same group and there is some real ugliness going on. Name calling ain't changing my vote, no matter who it is for. Challenging my intelligence because I don't see things the same way as you, what is up with that?

I never talk politics in my business and at my business.
Why ? ...because it's natural for people to take sides and form opinions...In the old days ...I remember the normal was .. not telling anyone who you are voting for...it was a private thing and no-one elses business. The was a reason for that. It prevented arguements and loss of friendship and respect...The old days... people kept things to themselves. It would be great to think that everyone could discuss politics, disagree and maturely move on...but everyone is different and thats life.
In todays open society everything is open to discussion but unfortunately discussions get ugly and personal.
I'm taking the old days stance and voting my personal conscience and choose not to discuss it with my friends here at LR or my friends anywhere else unless they agree with me of course LOL. If I choose not to like or agree with someone here at LR , it won't be due to Politics...
Just my take...
Chill MarK...not said in a derogatory way...Life's too short. Again , I hope this is not taken in a negative way.

Discussion is good, even a little bickering is good. The negativity that surrounds some of the political discussions (and a few others) is really pointless.

Anger, negativity and absolutes (assumptions or in real life) are a total waste of energy for anyone.

Society in general has turned into a "I have to have the last word" world.. as if having the last word makes it right. Or saying it louder makes it right. Or calling someone names makes it right.

I dunno. for a country that is supoosedly moving in the right directions socially (race, gender, etc) I fear we are moving in the wrong direction, IE Socialist-ly.
