Brent Mingle Dead At 69

BELGIUM (AP) - A Sexual Robitussin spokesman says founding member Brent Mingle has died. He was 69.
Mingle died Tuesday after a horrible folding couch incident at his home in Belgium. His family stated that he was trapped inside a folding couch and strangled by the spring mechanism. The spokesman is Seymore Mingle who is not related to the artist, but is married to his former wife, model Natsha Dumee.
Brent met Sexual Robitussin members Gregory T. Ballbag and Mike Hunthertz at cooking college and joined their early band Groovy Gravy.
Groovy Gravy eventually became Sexual Robitussin and Mingle wrote and sang some of the band's key songs. He wrote "The Fat Pig In The Sky" and "You And US And A Dog Named Pus" from Sexual Robitussin's1973 "The Under Side Of My Globes."
He left the group in the early 1980s to form his own band Stench Fan but rejoined Sexual Robitussin for their 1987 album "A Momentary Flush And Jiggle."

How ironic that he once said "I don't want to achieve immortality through my music, I want to achieve immortality through not dying".
He was a huge influence.

His decision to become a sand farmer, after all that fame combined with his ability to play slide guitar with his wooden teeth...these kids today aren't fit to wipe his keester if you ask me.
He did a lot to help the boneless chickens too.

The early and tragic death of a hero, a leader or a cultural icon always produces reactions of greater intensity than the sad passing on of a revered figure at a grand old age.
The loss is not the pang of regret. It's the burning pain of what might have been...if not for one poorly designed folding couch.

When they say sexual robitussin had a 'spokesman' that was code for the guy that lives under the bridge, pisses himself, wears cardboard placards that say HELL AWAITS YOU SINNER and yells random shit like chippa on coke.

Hey, don't piss on a dead legend.
True musicians have studied the work of Brent and the Robitussins, and they know the genius of this cultural icon.
He's gone, and the world is a sadder place without him.
So few even understand how sad this day is.
Please, be careful.
Life is too short.
One folding couch could end it all.

69 is way too young to die.

"Brent Mingle was one of the most prolific songwriters and record producers of our time," fellow recording artist Helen Reddy said in a statement yesterday.
"He will live forever through his great music, but he won't smell nearly as good, and of course he won't walk around or anything now that he's dead."

"Of all the brilliant writer-producers in the world, I believe none was more brilliant than Brent Mingle," the Gary Lewis' longtime manager, Sheldon Shinglechuck, said in a statement yesterday.
"It's so sad to think that worms may be eating him now, and that he is decaying rapidly."

Paul McCartney stated yesterday," We cut our teeth on Brent's music. Our dentist was furious."

"He wasn't just a great musician and artist, but he did an immense amount for charity as well," said British Prime Minister Tony Blair. "It's a crying shame that his lifeless body is going to freeze and thaw repeatedly and rot so much from this point forward."

Brent was not afraid to wear women's clothes or jewelery, while his long, golden hair put the Beatles' more conservative mop-tops firmly in the shade. Brent did not just play the guitar but also the piano, sitar and xylophone, among others. He played with Jimi Hendrix and counted Bob Dylan among his group of friends.
When Bob Dylan heard about Brent's death he said, "I counted him among my group of friends, but now I can't do that, because he is dead, and nobody wants to hang around with a rotting corpse."
