McCain's ongoing copyright infringement

gear-vault.com/heart-says-no-w...Talk about entitled. This is like the 6th time he's been cited for this kind of thing, including...
- In August, singer Jackson Browne sued the McCain campaign and the Ohio Republican Party for copyright infringement because his song “Running on Empty” was used in an ad by the state party. Browne’s lawyers said that “McCain and his campaign were well aware of” this fact.
– In August, the McCain campaign re-cut a web ad after comedian Mike Myers’s publicist complained about the use of footage of Myers and fellow Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey’s “Wayne’s World” characters.
– In July, the McCain campaign had to pull and re-cut a web ad after Frankie Valli’s record label, the Warner Music Group, asserted its copyright claims over the use of the song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”
– Earlier this year, the copyright owners for the “Rocky” theme song “telephoned the McCain campaign to politely complain it was being used without permission.”
- Van Halen issued a cease and desist order to the McCain campaign for objecting to the use of "Right Now". A spokesperson for the group said: "Permission was not sought or granted, nor would it have been given. Van Halen are not political, they're just rock and roll." The band has insisted McCain stop using their songs.

I think Palin should prepare a speech regarding song usage...
Seriously though, - I don't think that McCain should keep using songs without permission. How would you feel if a song you wrote was used to promote something you did not agree with... and the result was more support for the cause...?? I'm sure there are plenty of songwriters that would be willing to "donote" a theme to the republican party.

The Wilsons have been complaining and served a cease and desist.A perfect choice for the Repubs though,A song that many thought was about oral sex. They had to get ya one last time bubba.
They claim the song is about an obnoxious record executive-sounds like he's having his way with the sisters once again-The venue claims they had permission to use the song through the record company.
Roger Fisher has no problem with McCain/Palin using the song and has publicly announced that he would forward the proceeds over to the Obama campaign.
