New AC/DC vs new Metallica... thoughts?
I'm not sure if this one's been kicked around the block yet but I just heard these two over the last week.

Man I think that new AC/DC tune is AWESOME, ("Rock and Roll Train", hear it at
wwwacdc.com) can't wait for that album, I think their last one "Stiff Upper Lip" was really good too, a real return sonically to the early days for them, and it sounds like Brian Johnson has had his vocal chords scraped down and can hit some of those high notes again!

Without hearing the AC/DC I'm going with Metallica. From the excerpts on thier site to the new song on iTunes I got oever the weekend, the new album is going to kick some serious ass!!!! HMMMM Metallica and AC/DC Tour????? How sick would that be?

Definitely the new AC/DC. Its been a good ten years since I heard any Metallica that I really liked.

I haven't even hear the new ac/dc yet and I vote for that. I listened to about 20 seconds of the new MEtallica song and had to turn it off for fear I was gonna drive off a bridge to end my life after wasting 20 seconds on that crap.

I love the AC/DC tune. I've heard it three times so far and it's just a great rock tune.
I've heard the Metallica tune a few times now and it sounds like they rehashed all of the "famous" Metallica riffs and syncopation stuff into one song. The song has no continuity.

I agree with Kevin about the Metallica tune. It sounds like they are rehashing some of the same riffs. But, lets see what the rest of the album is like.
What I love about AC/DC is that they never change. They don't try to change with the times, they just do what they know. They even wear the same clothes!

I am holding in my hands a cd of AC/DC's very first recorded performance at the Hampton Court Hotel in March 1974. Some guy named Dale Evans is on vocals. Historic recording.
But I don't know what it sounds like because I haven't listened to it yet.

The new AC/DC song is great. The metallica song sounds like a rehash & their trying to re-do the music of their youth. It's not working. Also..The drum sounds on every album after the black album keep getting more horrendous.

Ya know Erin...
Every CAN'T go out & buy it now bacuase it's not out yet.
I download some stuff to see if the rest of it is as good as I hope. Then I listen to it until I CAN BUY IT in Nov. If it dosen't blow. So..being the music fan that I am.... I WILL buy it for the artwork..liner notes etc. as I did pay $79.00 for the 4 DVD box set a couple years ago.
Bottom line is I'm such a fan of the music..I want to hear the tunes as soon as I can get it, but I do buy the CDs when they come out so if you're a fan of the band & their music... download it, listen to it, & when the CD comes out if you like it..BUY IT & support the band.
Erin... you & your opinions annoy the fu*k out of me. You seem like such a uptight pain in the ass! Thank God I don't really know you! Thank Effin God!

Secondly.. I don't know you or care to which kind of makes you completely insignificant to me.
Lastly.. Please don't be a hypocrite about music recording or downloading because I will NEVER believe you have NEVER recorded some music or video onto a cassette or CD-R /DVD-R from someone else for your listening pleasure from another person & didn't go buy the item/music yourself.

The new Metallica is going to crush, I don't care what anyones says! Based on the clips I've heard and the 2 new songs I happen to enjoy a lot, it's gonna rule. Can't wait. Also heard Rock N' Roll Train and Man am I impressed with that too! I haven't liked anything from AC/DC since 'Flick of the Switch'. Should be a good coupla months for new releases...

love em both but metallica all the way I agree with one louder. To answer some of the earlier critics metallica 4 hacks, you wish you could play like them at least theirs tunes are intricate and have different arrangements. I love them both but I can only hear the same 4 major chords played through a marshall with some blue soloing over in the verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus out format so many times. Although ac/dc does it almost the best its ever been done but still BORING!!!!!!!!

IDK....I've listened to the new Metallica a handful of times. Every time I hear it, I like it less than the time prior. As Boomer stated, it seems like they're re-hashing their old material pre-Black Album.
