peace tbass.
7/6/2008 3:47:43 PM
Nicely done Tom! Looking forward to a great day of music, and for raising a bunch of money for a great cause!
7/6/2008 5:21:29 PM
Nice!! What a lineup! We're in the presence of some really kick-ass bands!
Also remember that we're playing the night before so our gear at the ready for everyone's use. So I guess just bring your axes and whatever pedals and effects you might use!
7/6/2008 7:11:17 PM
tommybaby, still bummed that I cannot make it this year... would definitely rather be there than an Irish-Catholic wedding... sure, the food and drink will be amazing, but the drama... OMG.
:)
Reception in Boston will end around 6pm... if I have ANYTHING left in me by that time, I'll be at KPM as your loving leaning-post just like last year (big toothy grin)...
Will be in touch via email to buy tix and give stuff, as usual... lata gata & big cc smoochies to you...
7/6/2008 7:29:43 PM

Nice job with the message Tom!
rockinforkpm.bravehost.comI just thought I'd toss the web site in there too ... lol
As Tom stated, we do have a pretty cool door prize that is a basket full of some really great items including a certificate for 4 tickets to any upcoming Lowell Spinners game. I've seen the stuff that goes in the basket & I'm tempted to buy some raffles for it myself .. lol. We also have a certificate for 4 tickets to any Lowell Devils game in the 08-09 season. I'm expecting more items so as I get raffles in I'll let you know!
In addition to Micky Ward being in attendance there may also be a Devil Dawg appearance that the kids might enjoy .. lol .. and I will know more about that within the next day or two. I'm working on a couple of other things and I'll keep you posted as to how those turn out.. lol. Also, if you are bringing children with you there will be some things to keep them busy if they are looking for something to do. I've been accumulating items such as coloring books, crayons, small activities, etc. for the smaller kpm'ers while they sit at the tables. Remember .. it's kid-friendly until 8pm!
And food .... Show up hungry ...!! LOL There will be plenty of food!
Oh yeah..
For those of you that didn't make it to Rockin' For KPM last year you should try to make it this year! This is a day where some of the best local musicians play in the same place on the same day .... something that doesn't happen too often (just look at that line-up!). Last year was a BLAST and so much fun! For the price of $10.00 per ticket you are getting 7 hours of unbelievable music, a ton of great food, lots of laughs, and a wonderful feeling knowing you've helped someone else.
See ya there!
7/6/2008 8:00:26 PM

7/8/2008 9:31:55 PM
My apologies. I will be looking for fellow darker bands like me to replace. Again, I apologize. Quite quite disgusted...but eh.....damn drummers not taking care of themselves!
7/9/2008 8:00:45 AM
What a bummer about Coven of 13 -- was really looking forward to seeing/hearing them!! (frowny face)
Local rocks "One Track Mind" would be a good replacement band, I think, to fill the slot (if available)
onetrackmind.biz
7/9/2008 10:09:14 AM
I second that! Was looking forward to Coven of 13.
Anyways T, I have a buddy whose band would love to play. They're not from Lowell but down by Brockton and might be good to fill the void left by Coven if you're looking for something hard & heavy in that spot...
7/9/2008 10:49:20 AM
Bump!
7/9/2008 6:55:35 PM
sorry coven can't play. i got a band called woodbury to fill in. saw them this past may at a benefit in tewsbury. i was quite impressed. they are psyched to do it. nice to keep some local original talent in show this year. they did do a cover of rage, and spanked the piss out of the tune.
lowellrocks.com/artist/woodbu...you can click over to their myspace site and hear more. i also have shuvelhead waiting to hear if mighty bad habits need bow out as well. kaby call me, please. need to get fliers out. the band names are on it.
thanks, tom.
7/9/2008 7:25:31 PM
I notice a little while ago they had posted the date on their page :-)
tbass .. I've already emailed your cousin with the heads up on the changes, so he's just waiting for me to let him know. As soon as it's been revised they'll be printed!
Debra, I hope you will be at the benefit anyway as I would love to meet you!
7/9/2008 7:33:25 PM
Woodbury played with us back in the winter. They kicked ass.
Great addition to the lineup.
7/9/2008 7:46:23 PM
ya what he said!!!!
7/9/2008 7:49:39 PM
they have some great tunes on their myspace. call me mother rocks!!!!
7/9/2008 7:50:24 PM

thanks bill, and chris. it is funny i do not have a shortage of bands ready to jump in. i must lead a charmed life i guess. i am really blown away by the support though. it is a good cause, and i really want to make it a great day for everyone, not just the boys. last year was off the charts. it was also one of the lakesides great days. so it is a win win for everyone. it is a lot of work, but i have grown to love it. labor of love i guess. knowing last year that the boys had some great days, from what we did, makes me very happy. dave crisi, bless his soul, can tell us all, just being in a wheelchair for his short time, really sucks ass. i could never image myself, or my children, going through that for an entire lifetime. such as the boys have. their spirits remain high, and they never complain. they have every reason to, but they don't. makes me feel bad about some of the petty shit i'll complain about. being down on the river the other night and seeing scorch, and hanging with some freinds feels good. stuff like that we take for granted. thats why i say the benefit is for them and us. really cool to hang with great people. we should do it more.
peace tbass. (got to get off my soapbox now)
7/9/2008 8:19:08 PM
:-)
Very nice ...
7/9/2008 8:31:01 PM
i am very sorry to announce that the mighty bad habits can not make the show. there are some family issues, and i wish the band all the best. on the other hand, i am glad to annouce, shuvelhead has stepped up to the plate to take their place. i want to thank al, and the boys for being there for me!!! love it. i am getting cancellations, which i know is part of the deal. it is hard to plan a show 6-8 months in advance. but lowell rockers can step up to the plate. that is why this site is special. thanks to you all!!!!
tom
7/9/2008 9:11:30 PM

7/11/2008 7:59:51 PM
this sucks. it has nowhere near the stuff i wrote. what the fugg is up with that?
7/11/2008 8:01:38 PM
I think if you keep putting hyphens in between words without putting some spaces in every so often the system thinks it is one long word & condenses it.
7/11/2008 8:10:03 PM
either way .... I second the vote! Tony and I got our tickets! : )
7/11/2008 8:21:25 PM

7/15/2008 7:35:40 PM

Hey, all you LR rockers!!!
It's been awhile since I've been on.....had some stuff going on in my personal life.........but, I'm back! And, ready to rock with Decadence at the KPM benefit!!
We are all pumped up, and really honored to be part of this very special event! Kudos to Tom for once again putting together such a great lineup, and a great day! As well as to Diane for all that she does....love ya both!!
As most of you know, our bassist, Dave, has been paralyzed from the waist down since last Christmas. But, he will be rockin' with us at KPM, and we are very much looking forward to having him with us...:-) He is gonna rock it from his wheelchair!!
What you don't know is that our very good friend Jean (aka Boomer), drummer for the band Bottom's Up, will be banging the skins for Decadence during our set....is that cool, or what????!!!!
Sorry this is so long, but it's been a long time since I have been on.....and I had to get it all out!!
This day is going to be even bigger and badder than last year's KPM.........ROCK ON!!!!
7/15/2008 9:48:47 PM
Oh, yeah.....I am very excited to see everyone.....it's been way too long!!!
7/15/2008 9:50:52 PM
Wendyyyyyyy!!! I can't wait to see you too!
I think it's very cool that boomer is sitting in with Decadence .. can't wait to hear it :-)
7/16/2008 6:35:21 AM
Bumping up for the Wilkins boys :-)
7/16/2008 6:43:39 PM
30 days people .... only 30 more days :-)
I know something you don't know ...
yet .... LOL
7/16/2008 10:49:13 PM
I know something you don't know ...
yet .... LOL
I know...I know...
Let's see...
Tbass finally went through with the sex change since he's been so absent around lately, & Monkeyfoot is a Tina Turner tribute with him fronting it???
Anyone else for a guess?
7/17/2008 6:40:17 AM
Well, I don't know what Monkeyfoot is. . .but that's probably not it LOL
Please share with the class, Diane . . .
Seriously, though-Ray Wilkins is one of the nicest people you'd want to meet and I've never met the boys but my husband says they're awesome.
Go to this event-you won't be sorry.
From what I hear one throws a party like Tbass and Diane!
7/17/2008 9:10:42 AM
Funny thing is Joker's is having a huge MS benefit across the street the same day. It should be a madhouse. come early to park.
7/17/2008 9:14:45 AM
You guys are so nice to cater to your fans and offer to play what they want. I wish we were that nice. We'll do what we want and probably even screw those up.
Bump
7/17/2008 9:24:23 AM
LOL@ boomer!!!
Can't share just yet Musicmall ... lol. And it did seem more like a LowellRocks party than a benefit last year!
Thanks for the heads-up Keiley! I think they had something on the same day last year too, but I'm not positive.
lol@ TimO
I sure hope you play "Beautiful People"!
7/17/2008 7:04:10 PM
movin' this right back up .... bump!
7/19/2008 7:57:32 PM
Joker's did have something last year, I think they are competing with Deb's! : )
7/20/2008 11:26:17 AM
A co-worker of mine is going to be at the benefit at Jokers and might come by Deb's afterwards. I hung up a couple of fliers at work & some folks seemed interested. It'll be cool if they showed up to hear the great music!
7/20/2008 6:28:13 PM
I can't believe how fast the benefit is approaching. I still have some stuff to finish up!
7/21/2008 6:34:50 AM
Page 2 bump.......can't wait to rip the roof off debs again!!!!!
7/21/2008 9:08:25 PM

7/24/2008 7:18:02 PM
you guys and gals are all sweet!!! thanks for the bumps and stuff. sucks i am on the road so friggin much!! i really hate to live out of a suitcase. but got to make money, right? that's why i have miss dianne help me out. without her watching me and the boys' back it would be tough! the show is going to be great! every band is guaranteed to be there. the food will be an historic event. could use maybe some raffle items or, maybe some advance tix sales. maybe just request a flier to post up somewhere. every little bit helps. peace, love, and good wishes from me too you and yours.
tbass.
7/24/2008 9:05:11 PM
Wow ..thanks for the kind words tbass! I'm sure living out of a suitcase is the pits, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Things are rolling along just nicely for the benefit. :-)

Bumpin-Up^
7/28/2008 11:52:40 AM
dianne, thanks for putting those pics of the boys at the wedding up. i just looked at them and had to sit back a minute. they looked so happy. simple things to some of us are never remembered. but seeing how happy and proud they are, just to be a part of someting really makes you think about all the shit we all complain about. the boys are chomping at the bit to hear all these bands. my cousin ray, tells me he has trouble telling the boys, it is still a few weeks away. they really want it to happen like now. makes me feel good that they look forward to this. music is one of the few things that cross relates to all of us. just because you have an affliction of some kind, doesn't mean you can't still rock out. i am truely humbled by all of your support. can't wait for the day to come. if anyone needs some tix, let me or dianne know, we will get them to you. we also have fliers if you need, or html for your website. please let us know.

The pictures of the boys do look great Tom, don't they? Your cousin sent me three more from various events and I will have those posted tonight. And what you wrote was well said, tbass ...
And yes .. .let us know if you need tickets! I have some and if you are near where I live or passing by my job .. let me know so you can pick them up.
7/28/2008 5:49:41 PM

Btw.. I just emailed you the letter.
7/28/2008 7:58:27 PM
this is one of the things this benefit does!! give the boys a great day out. this is what your money went to last year. not all of it of coarse, but this what we do. thank yourselves for the happiness you see in their eyes. without you this day does not happen!!!!

Rockin’ For KPM
Tom Reid – Benefit Organizer
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is being sent to you with hopes that you may be able to provide a raffle donation to an all-day benefit that is being held for Kyle and Patrick Wilkins. It is also a day for family and friends to remember their brother Matthew.
Kyle, Patrick, and Matthew are triplets from Chelmsford, MA who, at the age of 5 ˝ years old, were all diagnosed with Beckers Muscular Dystrophy. Kyle and Patrick are now 17 years old but, sadly, Matthew passed away in November of 2006.
Rockin’ For KPM is a benefit that was held for the first time in 2007 to help raise money for the boys. It was a daylong musical event that included twelve local bands that were gracious enough to donate their time and it allowed everyone to come together for the boys. Even though Kyle was experiencing complications from a prior surgery and could not stay long, both boys enjoyed the time they were there. We are again holding this benefit for Kyle & Patrick but with fourteen bands joining us this time.
As I stated above, I am sending this letter to see if you would be able to provide a raffle donation to this wonderful event. All proceeds collected from the raffles go directly to KPM Trust & the Wilkins Family. All persons involved with helping make this day a success, such as the bands, people with food donations, etc., are all doing so on a voluntary basis and receive no form of payment for their time.
I am providing you with the details of the benefit in case you need to verify that this is indeed a valid event: Rockin’ For KPM
August 16, 2008
Deb’s Lakeview Lounge
Dracut, MA
Should you be kind enough to make a raffle donation, it may be sent to the following address: Lisa Reid
10Lands End Rd.
Tyngsboro, MA 01879
phone 978-957-6270
Thank you for reading and I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards,
Lisa Reid

7/28/2008 8:16:13 PM
You're welcome! It was something I typed up (but never showed you ... lol) to mail out for donation requests. It's so simple now to remove one name & address, put in another one, and shoot it off in an email so that the other person has it right away .... isn't it? LOL
7/28/2008 8:34:25 PM
And to update the raffle items:
In addition to this stuff ......
-A certificate for 4 tickets from the Lowell Devils to any upcoming game
-A certificate for 2 tickets from the New England Revolution for an upcoming game
-2 - $20.00 gift certificates from Sandwich King (located on Bridge Street .. yummmy food)
-A gift basket donated by All Sports Promotions (my workplace) that includes: 4 pairs of Bushnell binoculars, 4 Rawlings baseballs, 4 Red Sox ball caps, 1 compact insulated cooler that has a couple of fun summer things inside it, and 5 tickets to an upcoming Lowell Spinners game. This may be the door prize, but that is up to Tom to decide.
..... we can now add:
-2 - $15.00 gift certificates to The Trolley Stop (pizza, subs, etc. on Gorham Street)
7/28/2008 8:37:10 PM
Two new raffles items in my mail today -

7/30/2008 9:10:05 PM
I got an email from someone today mentioning the fact that one of my amps would be in the backline. As I am nothing to do with running sound for this benefit and I'm just playing, I won't be there for the entire day, but whilst I am there, I'm happy to let anyone use any of my gear. I just can't leave the amp because ironically I don't actually own one of my own, I just use whatever I have in at the time. Whatever I bring will be a brand new amp destined for somewhere, so I can't let it out of my sight.
7/31/2008 12:53:21 PM
bumping back to the top!
7/31/2008 4:57:34 PM
alan, i am sorry for the confusion, mate, the amp i mentioned to someone was to be brought courtesy of chris decunha. someone was definitely confused. i'm just glad you'll be there in any capacity my friend. any help you give is greatly appreciated!!!
peace, tom.
7/31/2008 8:50:15 PM
Hey Tom,
What are you going to have for a bass rig there?
7/31/2008 9:18:36 PM
Bump!
Hiya CrazyCat!
8/1/2008 6:37:44 AM
The bass rig is Keiley's. It's pretty decent and you'll like it.
8/1/2008 9:25:24 AM
oh shit, wrong benefit, I really don't know what bass rig will be there. EEEK
8/1/2008 9:26:25 AM
I believe One Louder is providing the backline for the day.
8/1/2008 12:12:16 PM
Yep... and we're glad to do it. I'm the bass player (Pete) and I have a Gallien Kruger 240 watt head and a SWR 4X10 cab. I dont have any fancy effects, so bass players, feel free to bring any you want.
8/1/2008 1:50:34 PM
thanks pete, bass rig covered. i know everyone is worried about what thay will play out of. but it will be sufficient enough to do what we need to do. we have to 1. party like rock stars party 2. raise some money for good kids that need it. 3.party and have a great time. i think that about covers it. did i mention party? oh yeah i did. rock and love will be felt throughout the day.
peace, tbass.
8/1/2008 6:23:10 PM
drum kit will be pdp by dw. maple drums. 5 piece. you need to bring snare and hi-hat, bass pedal and stool if necessary.
figured that was the next question.
tom.
8/1/2008 6:29:28 PM
Chris here and I would be happy to let anyone use my guitar amp. It's a Peavey Valve King 212, 100W tube amp with clean, crunch, and lead, all footswitchable. It's balls! Not much for EFX, 'cept for reverb, so guitar MoFos may wanna use their own...
8/1/2008 7:54:32 PM
Hi Chris...That amp has an effects loop, right?
8/1/2008 8:35:29 PM
14 days to go ... !!
8/2/2008 11:55:59 AM
Gallien Kruger 240 watt head and a SWR 4X10 cab?
That'll do!! Those 4X10 cabs are punchy as hell.
8/2/2008 3:09:23 PM

8/2/2008 3:09:58 PM
