Happy Birthday to both of you old goats! At our age, we get to say "HAAAAA!" every year, because we're still here. I hope to see you both here for many years to come... after all, we know where all the bodies are buried...

Thanks!
I went to Gloucester yesterday hung out on the beach all day and checked into a horrible hotel. I slept for about 2 hours on the worst bed imaginable, got up at 5 am and drove home. My wife and son are still up there. I grabbed some extra stuff we needed, including a guitar, and I'm headed back right now, hopefully before they wake up.
Have a happy 4th! I'm gonna try to. Let it rain. I got tons of booze!
Off I go again.

ken, you always crack me up with your stories!!!
the only downside to our vacation in maine was that we had lumpy beds...
other than that, we had gorgeous weather, rafting was FANTASTIC, food was great, the wedding was FUN... so, no great stories......
well, other than the fact that on pat's birthday when we went white water rafting, i got launched out of the raft during a class V rapid!! oh, that is a story but a fun one anyway!!

I'm now recovering from 3 days at The Captain's Lodge Motor Inn, where the rug looks and smells like Clamato juice.
The bed was like a giant hot dog roll stuffed with barbed wire and the pillow was like putting your head on Aunt Bea's ass.
Every time you opened the door it went EEK! (really loud) like someone stabbing a parrot suddenly.
I knew after that 1st night that staying very drunk and stoned would have to be mandatory if we were gonna sleep at all.
Mission accomplished.
The colors on the TV were a bit off too. For instance, Homer Simpson was black.
Other than that it was a great place to be released from. I feel very free right now.
We spent about 13 hours a day on the beach and I brought my ukulele. I expected people to know the background vocals and do the choreography for my songs, but apparently they didn't watch enough Elvis movies. It pissed me off that no Hawaiian guys showed up at all. I was in the mood for some hula dancing.
Every time I went into the water Japanese fishing trawlers honked their horns and got all excited.
The fireworks were good until the cops came and took them, but they let us keep our campfire.
Sand continues to come out of various surprising places.
It was a great 4th of July from what I can remember.

Sounds like the makings of a good song, Ken.
7/7/2008 3:37:55 PM
I'd never remember the words.
