After obsorbing the new disc I find it a jem.

Yeah, I've listened to it a couple times. Haven't fully determined if it's great or just good yet... it takes me a few days to figure that out. The female vocals in 'Coil' freaked me out a bit (in a good way), I don't know if they've ever done that before.
Ghost Reveries will be hard to beat though.

I just put that on also. I just saw them with Dream Theatre and it was too short of a set.

Glad I didn't go. I saw they were opening for DT in Boston and I'd love to see them, but I'm reluctant to go to a show just to see the opening band. For all you know they'll only play 20 minutes.
How was DT? I've seen them 3 times and have the typical reaction.. they're technically amazing but a bit soulless somehow.

What Opeth played was fantastic. DT you hit the nail on the head. One guy that night made the reference that it was "cookie cutter prog/metal" I thought that was interesting. He had seen them like I many times and I have to agree. Some tunes were outstanding and a couple of others were just like ahh ok.
