Anthem (Metal Bass Solo)
For some reason this piece makes me feel closer to Jimmy Page in spirit than any other "bass guitarist" that I can think of—not that that's a bad thing!
The instrumentation is bass & drums with the use of my trusty EPSM sampler for custom made expolsive textures and chanting voices.
The "Anthem" solo is prefaced with an amazing blood-curdling, effects-drenched shitstorm—Shiitestorm—that foreshadows war in the Middle East (this was recorded in 1989 before the Gulf War).
I call it "Anthem" because of the way it feels. It starts out slow, almost as if establishing a motif as with the opening of a movement in symphonic music and builds into an amazing, heart-felt, gut-wrenching sonic experience that pretty much continues to revolve around the motif or opening statement. I began doubling the bass in real time and employing the use of a slide. Those are Zulus chanting toward the end.
I like it because it is somewhat hypnotic and it feels good.

Where did I do wrong?.......................:-)

I meant, "Where did I GO wrong".
Oh, I just experienced that sped-up, chipmunk phenomenon (although with some of my music it can be difficult to determine whether it is intentional or not).
I have two browsers: Mozilla/Firefox and Internet Explorer. I use the Mozilla browser exclusively. A few minutes ago, I mistakenly opened the Explorer browser. I went to listen to this piece and got the chipmunk effect.
I just included a very comical segment to this piece that was part of the original recording that I had edited out for length and file size purposes until I realized that sampling at a much lower bit rate doesn't seem to make much of a difference—at least not on the forum.
While there is a voice that is sped-up and slowed down I can assure you that it has nothing to do with your computer (WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL...WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL).
I'm wondering if the problem may have to do with a glitch in Explorer because Firefox has always been very stable whereas Explorer has failed on a number of occasions with other problems.
Not that this has anything to do with that particular problem but I noticed a slight difference in the text or lettering font between the two browsers.

One Louder,
Yes it is a Mockingbird. I believe he has two of them. The other is a natural / walnut finish. Not sure of the origin though.
