Red Barchetta
Now for a brief change of pace....
A decent performance of Rush's "Red Barchetta" recorded in 2003 or so at a "Those Three Guys" gig at Hyne's Tavern in Lowell.
It's a bit heavy on the bass and I'd take the time to remix it if weren't for my single -sided deafness. I was a sick puppy when we recorded this.
Arty (Octopus Grabus) Cranshaw on drums & Vocals, Pete Early on geeeetar and me on bass (bull fiddle).
I switched the avatar image to an old promo shot we had taken on a tank. Like I really dig the "rifled" phallus symbolism (there oughta be a law).

Dude.......that absolutely rocked.....wow!!! Thanks for sharing that one. Not many bands would ever try Rush tunes.

Also Pete is a bad-ass guitar player if I may say so.

Tanks Matty!!
Yes, Pete is a fine musician. Good man to be in the trenches with.
Good with guitar repair as well as pro-audio too. Excellent country player and one of the better slide players around.
A few years ago we were doing a Christmas party for Charlie Moore, The Mad Fisherman (on NESN and EPSN). Charlie is friends with a lot of sports and music celebs that appear on his fishing show.
At this particular party, Rick Medlock from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot was there. We got to play "Train, Train" for the guy who actually wrote the tune. What a thrill!! Train is one of Pete's showcases on the slide.
After the gig word got back to us that Medlock had commented, "Why haven't I heard of this guy before? He's one of the better slide bar players that I've heard".

Not Bad. In fact almost good. ;-)
Hard enough playing drums never mind singing like Geddy.

I believe it. I've known Pete since the old Hamel days. Great guy and superb player. He's definately a guy to watch play and he sounds like a pro. Last I heard he was working at a store in Portsmouth or Dover.

Matt,
Did you get to hear our version of "YYZ"? I had that posted a few months ago. I'll put it back if you'd like to hear it.

Paul - really, really good instrumentals, and Arty does a decent job on the vocals. Indeed --- not many bands would even attempt this. It's tight and rockin!

Paul, I've only heard "Rush" bleed like this. Awesome job!

Thanks so much!
Let it bleed baby!!!

Paul...
I saw Those Three Guys several times at SCORZ before it became Sky Lounge. You guys always nailed Rush spot on.

My favorite song by my favorite band....not a bad job at all...at the solo, it really comes together nicely. Well done on a tough song.
