For Music Lovers
Not everyone may know Steve Hunt directly, but I'm sure more people have heard him indirectly. He lives in Chelmsford and 2 of his kids are in a band that is a member of Lowell Rocks. Who do I want to play like? Steve Hunt. I'm surprised no one commented on this article.

Thanks JZ, I would have commented, but I don't get the paper
I remember Steve used to come to Music 1 , when I was in Chelmsford, always a Gentleman and always riding a bicycle
He gave me 4 ticket once to see him play with Holdsworth in Boston, what a fantastic player he is. i always wanted to Jam with him, but i was too skidish to ask. He is an awsome player

He is top-notch AND the most modest, laid back guy ever. You'd never think he's "who is is", whatever that means.
I saw him perform in a Mahavishnu Tribute a few years ago and I can't even begin to describe it's authenticity, as well as the musicianship.
I wasn't being condescending by saying anyone should have commented. I just happened to get the Lowell Sun on Thursday while I was in the area. I probably wouldn't have even known.
I'm not sure of the lineup, but I think it's Steve, Bruce Bartlett (guitar), Steve Langone (drums), and Lucas Pickford (bass), but I'm gonna find out. Valeras would know.

I can't think of the band's name, but I'll know it when I see it.
I'm gonna check his myspace and I'm sure I'll see it there.

I've taken some lessons from Steve... I gotta tell you, I'm a person who plays by ear and most teachers have frowned upon me. I was so nervous in my first lesson, especially since he's one of the most phenomenal pianists I've ever seen. He was so cool and genuinely interested in teaching that I was at ease right away. During some of the lessons we even jammed on my tunes which was unbelievably cool.
He really is a magnificent guy and astounding musician.

Sandy Spence here. Ahhhh..Steve Hunt. The best!!!
I agree...he is so overlooked in this area. But not in the bigger music world and at Berklee School of Music. Steve produced my CD "Not Without Looking Back" a few years back. He lent not only his phenomenal keyboard parts to my CD but lended his son Josh's incredible drumming which brought my CD to a greater level. Josh was attending Berklee at the time and he contributed so much to my project in his spare time.
We were serenaded many a night by him as he played his Steinway Grand after a long night of recording.
Jon Butcher and Anthony J. Resta contributed to my CD also and Steve for a while handled the million tracks that we compiled. Tony Carle was my partner in this and he would agree with me about what I just stated.
Steve's KItchen Recording Studio is a wonderful place to record and Steve has so much patience and so much talent to offer. I highly recommend his studio to record your next album.
Because of Steve I recieved rave reviews about my CD from Alan Lewis who was a critic for The Boston Globe a few years back.
I don't contribute much to this site except for The Cellar Studio dates. But I had to say all of this. Two thumbs up for Steve Hunt!!!

Jim...thanks for posting this first,
Thanks to you I contacted Steve and he was so flattered by this thread. He emailed me tonight. And has viewed it...Again, he lives locally but did you all know that he has and still does work with so many greats...Alan Holdsworth, Chic Corea, Angela Bofill, Stanley Clarke..etc.
Steve is so soulful, and so giving...

I actually got his number in my book but we never hooked up.....hopefully some day....when I learn to play ...
And Yes ..Sandy Spence IS one of the premier female vocalists in the area ..I can attest to that!!!!
