A little about the guys who started this website, in their own words.

Randy "Big Daddy" Breton

Randy Big Daddy BretonComing from a small business family, my father and mother did all they could to share their enthusiasm for business with their kids. They taught me that when you are passionate about the field of work you are in, your hard work and perseverance will pay off. Man oh man, is that true. A strong work ethic from my dad and a love for the arts from my mom both fueled and fostered my ambition to find my own way and my own successes.

The urge to entertain hit me young and it hit me hard. I can remember singing (and poorly impersonating) Elvis songs in my living room at the age of 4, taking up the drums at 9, the sax at 10, and grabbing the lead roll in every drama club production from grade school through High School. In spite of all that, I was a late bloomer when it came to playing professionally - my first paying gig came at the age of 26... and had nothing to do with sequined jumpsuits.

Being able to combine my love for music and my roots in small business is incredibly rewarding, and I am so very much looking forward to what lies ahead.

Welcome to the site. Welcome to my passion. Welcome to LowellRocks.com.

I live by these words. It's also the philosophy we followed when Randy and Rob approached me in the Winter of 2002, with an idea to connect with everybody in the Lowell music community (bands, venues, music lovers). As gigging musicians, we all wanted to promote our bands and "piggy back" off each other's fanbase. But, a forum was needed. Instead of the traditional gig-swapping, there had to be an easier way to get in front of new people. The answer: LowellRocks.com

For me, this site is a combination of several passions: music, the Internet / web design, and entrepreneurship. I began playing guitar and learning HTML around the same time in 1996. Who knew this partnership would actually culminate into LowellRocks.com, a project where I can exhibit both my professional skills and hobbies? I'm proud to be a part of this, and I hope you are, too.

Rob Breton

Rob BretonI first starting playing music where almost everyone does - in my basement. At 10, I was in my first band, Galaxy. We played 2 sold out shows in our guitar player's back yard. The neighborhood kids loved it, and when I received some applause for my drum solo during "Wipe Out," I was bitten by the bug. I've spent every day since trying to be a live performer. By the time high school rolled around, I abandoned the drums for the guitar, and became a singer. Many years and several bands later, I'm still trying. Although it is now a part time hobby, I still have a passion for it. Music has never let me down. In fact, I met my wife at a gig...

The reason Randy, Rick, and I started LowellRocks.com, at least initially, was to have a website that would promote the bands we were in. Selfish? Yes. Genious? Time will tell. But I can tell you, it has grown beyond my wildest dreams, into THE premier entertainment website ANYWHERE. The most exciting thing is, we're not done yet! There's so much more to come, and I'm really excited about the future of LowellRocks.com.

I only have one question for you - What are you doing tonight?
