Michael Aaron Music
I began writing and playing music at 16, first as a bass player and later as a singer-songwriter, studying music at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. After a few years playing in various bands in the Boston area, I began playing solo acoustic venues and started recording my first solo project, 1994’s “The Weather Prophet,” including some guest appearances by Corin Ashley of the Pills and Jude Crossen of Atlas Shrugged. Arranged to showcase an intimate, acoustic live sound, the CD nevertheless hinted at my roots in pop music.
In 2000, I released a second full-length CD, “The Projection Room,” featuring lush, layered vocals and a fuller sound, showcasing my pop and rock sensibilities. The CD was well received by local music mags, and the live shows included more guests and even drum machines, while still maintaining an intimate, acoustic/folk presentation.
After the release of "The Projection Room," I took a few years off from music to develop a video production and photography company, Shibboleth Pictures, producing music video clips for such notable acts as Chapter 6 and Jim’s Big Ego. Despite this time away from performing live and recording, I continued to write songs, and by 2004 had more than enough material for another CD.
Currently I am working on my third CD, “Birds Without Wings” which will be released in 2010. Early demos have already garnered positive response on YouTube, and many are available here as both sound files and videos. The music on the CD spans over 10 years of writing, from 1994 to 2009, and features a fresh take on some classic songs by Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel.
