Phoenix
Phoenix is the new collaboration of four of the area's hottest players. It is a no-holds barred, rock & roll band that covers classic rock, southern rock, and your favorite blues hits.
Meet the players:
Liz Short (vocals) brings almost 30 years of experience to Phoenix and has played on the Cape and Boston area for 20 years. She has sung with a number of bands throughout New England from Rock to Blues including Betty and the Rockers, Liz and Paul, Jeff Lowe Band, Makin' Waves, The Richie Grace Band, Vertigo, Murphy's Blues and Running with Scissors. Liz brings a deep passion to her vocals and, when she sings, you will feel every bit of emotion the song has in it.
Nick Fowler (guitar, vocals) has played with Chubby Checker, Eric Carman, Little Anthony and Bo Diddley. He has opened for Big and Rich, Jo Diffey, Bad Company and Jay and the Techniques.
J.R. Maurice (drums, vocals) brings with him over 40 years of musical experience spanning from Church Choir and High School Glee Club to opening for 1990 Grammy Award winning Bluesman LUTHER JOHNSON. He has studied with master teacher Ed Nicholas, and has performance credits which include several New Bedford, MA R&b acts, touring USO shows in Japan, New England’s own Kan-Tu Blues band, the CMA 2002 band of the year, Road Runner 2000 (where he first met our guitarist, Nick), as well as various local blues and rock bands.
Chris Edris (bass, vocals) has been performing for about 30 years, 17 of which were as a singer with Air Force Bands. He's had the good fortune to play on stage with a number of very talented people including Elizabeth Taylor, Charlton Heston, Gloria Loring, Pete Barbuti, Lee Greenwood and Jon Pousette-Dart. He's also sung the National Anthem at Fenway and the Boston Garden and performed at Meadowbrook and Indian Ranch.
