Gary Smejkal
LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAME, the solo debut EP from Gary Smejkal, features three new original compositions written for the bass.
Described as "ethereal, jazzy, and sexy all with a latin flavor" in recent review, the new EP brings into the studio a new roster of musicians featuring Kevin Federico on keyboards, Kevin Crowley (Rampage Trio) on drums and congas, Rob Austin on guitar, and Christa Centola on vocals (Cheshire Cat, Blended).
“Keep on doing it.”
--- Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones)
“An A for approval and a C for the chops, which you do have.”
--- Bootsy Collins (James Brown, Funkadelics, Parliament)
“Very accomplished bassist.”
--- Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway Project)
“Bass player’s ready to rock.”
--- Lowell Sun Local Spotlight
“Climbing the charts.”
--- The HIPPO
"Chris Squire meets Stanley Clarke."
--- Ed Antonelli (The Mystics)
Gary Smejkal is back in the studio recording his second CD to be released early 2008.
