Bootsy Collins once wrote to Gary Smejkal "Consider this an A for approval and C for the 'chops' which you do have."
Following the successful EP debut LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAME, Smejkal released the theme song from the cable TV show A LOCAL ANESTHETIC in 2010.
LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAME was nominated Best CD in the 2009 Wooster Music Awards and placed 67th in the 2009 MTV VMA Best Breakout Band Awards. The CD was called “Fluid, expansive and filled with flurries of bass notes” in Metronome Magazine.
Gary Smejkal is an Endorsing Artist for ADAMOVIC BASSES and BAG END SPEAKERS.
