Like A Moth To The Flame

Recently commissioned to do the theme song for the new cable TV show A LOCAL ANESTHETIC, Gary Smejkal is back into the studio to record his first full length CD titled PLAYING IN THE WHITE SPACE scheduled for release in September 2010.

The full length CD will be preceded by the release of two CD singles in 2010, A LOCAL ANESTHETIC in March and TOCCATA IN D MAJOR FOR THE TENOR BASS in July.

The 2008 EP release LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAME was nominated Best CD in the 2009 Wooster Music Awards. The title track placed 67th in the 2009 MTV VMA Best Breakout Band Awards. The CD was called “Fluid, expansive and filled with flurries of bass notes” in Metronome Magazine.
