In 2005 the last threads that held Missing9n together finally snapped regretfully parting the 5 members and their rabidly dedicated local friend/fanbase. After an amalgam of problems on a person-by-person level in Missing 9N, vocalist Ryan Hoarty took a short but much-needed hiatus from the music scene in general. Hoarty, a vocalist by trade, had grown tired of the frustration relying on others to fill in the blanks and decided to pick up a guitar and chart his own direction. While retaining the position of vocalist, he also adds his hand at a mix of rhythm and lead.

Guitarist and long time friend Mike Tousignant was recruited for one of the earliest inceptions of D.B. Cooper. Failure and frustration ensued with the lack of dedicated and able local musicians to fill in the bass and percussion duties. During the summer of 2006 the project seemed to have been abandoned and Tousignant went onto fill guitar duties for Nashua punk band Stay Alive. Stay Alive found moderate success in the southern NH circuit, but the band broke up early on due to commitment issues and personal problems within the group.

In late 2006 and early 2007 Tousignant and Hoarty returned to writing for D. B. Cooper, sans drums and/or bass, until such a time that dedicated musicians could be found to fill the positions.

After leaving Florida, Jared Bedrick returned to the Lowell area seeking work in music. A graduate from Full Sail and a degree holding Music Engineer, Bedrick was also the guitarist for reggae band Jah Elect. A long time friend since high school with Hoarty and Tousignant, he was eager to fill in on the duties for either drums or bass. “An engineer within the band is one of the greatest assets for a group. They understand the direction better than anyone else would,” says Hoarty. “Jared has proved to be a great addition to the team.”

The members of D.B. Cooper bring a vicious dedication to their art and music. They reference bands such as cKy, At The Drive-In, Yes, Tool and King Crimson as some of their main influences. The members expect a three song demo–to be recorded by Bedrick and mixed by the band in Bedrick’s personal studio–to be released by Thanksgiving.
