Three fourths of A Better Fall met while attending UMASS – Lowell. Roommates with Dan, Darek met Rex during their guitar auditions. Working for acts like The Cure and Mogwai, Darek has a long history of being a stagehand and has traveled all over New England working for venues such as the Tweeter Center, Boston Garden, and Gillette Stadium. Playing the drums since he was a teenager, Darek’s insane imagination and warped sense of dry humor might just be the underlining theme that powers this band. Also starting careers within the music industry, Dan & Rex has worked side by side with many local venues such as the Lowell Memorial Auditorium and Worcester’s own DCU Center. By working hundreds of concerts between the three of them, each has learned what it takes to play a great live performance.
In the fall of 2006, Dan decided to dive head first into learning the bass. With his enduring dream to play live performances Dan is the powerhouse of the band. Although he has only played for a few months he has caught up to Rex’s 20 years of guitar playing experience. In late 2006 Dan, Darek and Rex started jamming and found that none were capable of fronting the band. They posted a Myspace ad and found Tom, a local Worcester bartender whose dream was to create original music.
A Better Fall was formed when Tom auditioned for the band in the winter of 2007. Impressed with his poetic lyrics, enthusiasm and desire for music the band immediately began working on original songs.
